Staff attitude was off hand and rather rude. There were no dining facilities on the Saturday night and limited for Sunday breakfast and we were not told proir to our check in on Saturday evening - too late for us to find any alternate.
There was no attempt to help with an early breakfast, not even coffee which is disappointing given the cost of lodging.
Paying 140$ a night for a room with no TV that was smaller then a size 7 shoe box
The location was great, within walking distance to Lake Louise
The halls were dark and the carpets were dark and worn.
Rooftop spa - although it was rusty and the changing areas were grubby and in need of a refurb, the nearness to Lake Louise itself, the excellent friendly reception staff.
Dark rooms and corridors, lack of tv, hairdryer and waste bin in a very compact room, overpriced.
I found thestaff made up for the lack of modern facilities. I liked the location I liked the breakfast and the car parking facilites were conveniently placed.
I thought the rooms were very small, and every sound could be heard from my room. I thought the lack of television severely impacted my stay as I was asingle person who needed to be able to have some entertainment in the room in the evenings when going out by oneself was inconvenient.
I liked the fact we could walk to Lake Louise and go horse-riding and hiking directly from the hotel.
The rooms were small and in need of refurbishment. Fine for a night but not comfortable for longer stays. I enjoyed the hotel but it was very expensive. We stayed in other hotels with better facilities which included breakfast (Deer Lodge did not) for a cheaper price. I think you pay for the location.
Proximity to mountains and walking trails. Great views from restaurant and hot tub. Great food. Staff very helpful.
Poor lighting in downstairs hallway made it feel a bit "dingey". Also flooring of same hallway was not carpeted and so was quite noisy with all the passing traffic.
Very clean lodge but value for money is not there well over priced for what it is.Has been an up market Lodge in its day lookimg a little tired. Food price are high compared to others in the area.
very close to Lake Louise
no fridge, no TV, Can you image ???
The room was very nice.
The hallways were too dark and gloomy.
Free Internet and friendly staff
The room was very small for the price paid, wallpaper coming off, noisy room and hotel general - everything creeked kept us awake. The bathroom wasnt great, toilet flush and cistern filling was appalling, had to call maintainece
Within walking distance of lake louise
Old fashioned charm is fine but I think a bit of tlc is needed
Desk staff and bellhop were most excellent. I also liked the coffee and to-go cups available in the morning in the Lady Agnes room.
The service in the restaurant was inconsistent - somewhat slow and there were mixups in what we ordered (which were fixed and apologized for). The food was good, however. Not terrible, but this was the only weak point in our stay.
Good location to Banff, Lake Louise, Icefield parkway and wildlife. Good hotel for a quiet, relaxing holiday.
Rate is on the high side while the building needs some fixing for the taps and the stairs. The room is small for the price.
